The grand Arts & Crafts at 2701 Pierce Street was built in 1905 by architect, William F. Curlett (1846-1914) for him and his wife, Cecilia and their two children. Curlett was born in County Down, Belfast, Ireland and trained first in Manchester, England then in Belfast. He came to California in 1871, and became one of the most celebrated architects of the Pacific Coast.
