British Architect, Ernest Coxhead designed the Classical Revival at 2700 Scott for Julian Sonntag in 1896. Sonntag's family manufactured black powder, and the house was built mostly thanks to his artist wife who was doing wood sculptures in Berkeley. She was rich and wanted a big home.
