Modeled after le Petit Trianon, 3800 Washington was built by Frank Van Trees in 1902 for Corinne and Marcus Koshland, whose Bavarian father Simon founded Koshland Brothers wool trading company. The original was built c.1768 for Louis XV at Versailles in the Greek Revival style.
