The Beaux-Arts mansion at 3690 Washington Street was built in 1928 for Standard Oil Chairman, R. Gwin Follis by Arthur Brown Jr., architect of San Francisco City Hall, Coit Tower, War Memorial Opera House, Pasadena City Hall, the PG&E Building, the Folger Estate in Woodside, and many others.
