898 Francisco Street

The Arts & Crafts with Gothic Revival details at 898 Francisco Street was built for sculptor Haig Patigian in 1914 and designed by Ward & Blohme. Armenian-born Patigian was an active member of the Bohemian Club, serving two terms as club president. He designed the Owl Shrine, a 40-foot high hollow concrete and steel structure at the Bohemian Grove which was built in the 1920s to have the appearance of a natural rock outcropping resembling an owl.
