The Dettner House at 45 Upper Terrace was designed in 1917 by Ida McCain for Ernest Dettner. Its Storybook Rustic / Romantic Revival style clinker brick with a steeply pitched tile roof, clipped gables, flared eaves, small paned windows, and a projecting triple arched entry make it a unique San Francisco favorite.
